TOURNAMENT ACTION

The St. Petersburg area District 5 Dizzy Dean Tournaments got underway June 1, 2004 with Pinellas Park hosting the annual T-Ball Tournaments.  Pinellas Park1 took 1st. place and Fossil Park 1 was runners-up for the 3rd year in a row.  View the T-Ball Tournament Brackets for complete tournament results.

June 4, marked the start of the District 5 Tournaments hosted at Fossil Park in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Go to the Tournament Section for dates, tournament brackets and other links.  Check out some of the results below.

FOSSIL PARK WINS DISTRICT 5
DIZZY DEAN 14 & UNDER CHAMPIONSHIP

The Fossil Park 14 Yr. Old All-Stars won the District 5 Championship by defeating Wildwood in the Championship game here at Fossil Park.  The Fossil Park 14 yr. Old All-Stars, Managed by JD Davis are seeking their 2 consecutive State Title.  Both Fossil Park and Wildwood will represent District 5 in the 14 Yr. Old Division State Tournaments starting July 10, 2004.

DIZZY DEAN 12 & UNDER CHAMPIONSHIP

The Fossil Park 12 Yr. Old All-Stars won the District 5 Championship by defeating Pinellas Park 12 & Under All-Stars in the Championship Game by a score of 17-8.  Fossil Park's only loss in the series came the night before where Pinellas Park defeated Fossil Park 10-7 forcing a third game between the two "power-house" teams.  Both teams will advance to the State Championships slated to start June 26, 2004.

The Fossil Park 10 Yr. Old All-Stars takes 2nd place honors as they were defeated by their nemesis, Pinellas Park, for the second consecutive year in the District 5  Championship Game.  Pinellas Park and Fossil Park will both represent District 5 in the Dizzy Dean State Tournaments.  Fossil Park will have a chance to oust Pinellas Park like last year should the two teams meet again.

Fossil Park A Team 8 & Under All-Stars are Runners-Up in the Pinellas County area District 5 Dizzy Dean Tournaments.  The All-Stars qualified to enter into state  competition which will begin July 10, 2004.  The Dizzy Dean State Tournaments for the 8 & Under Age Group will be held in East Milton, FL.

Pinellas Park 8 yr. old All-Stars put on a spectacular performance to win a double header versus Fossil Park to take the 8 & Under Championship for the 3rd year in a row.  See the Tournament Pages for brackets and game results.

The two top teams from each of the age groups will represent District 5 in the Dizzy Dean State Tournaments.  Fossil Park will be sending seven (7) teams to compete in the State Tournaments in a quest for a birth in the 2004 Dizzy Dean World Series.  All our teams need your support and help during this quest.  Please help by sending donations or purchasing web sponsorship ads on our website.
