Welcome To The Freshman Division AT
Fossil Park Youth Baseball

The Fossil Park Freshman (Major) Division is one of the premiere divisions at Fossil Park Youth Baseball and consist of those players who are league age eleven (11) and twelve (12). The Fossil Park Freshmen are the Florida Little Major League reining state champs of 2003. The Majors Division also held that post in 2000. Game scores, standings and stats are maintained for this league. Statistics are posted per the managers discretion.  Also, in 2004 this division boasted two separate age divisions in post season play consisting of an eleven year-old age group and a twelve year-old age division with both placing second in the state.  Beginning in 2005, this division became known as the Freshman Division corresponding with Dizzy Dean Division Groupings.  We hope you enjoy your visit at the Freshman Division Pages of Fossil Park Youth Baseball and please return again.

SUPPORT YOUR PARK

Fossil Park has been ranked among the top leagues in the State of Florida for many years and hopefully for many more to come.  With the addition of Girls' Softball we hope that they will also become a part of this elite park and become, too, a league of champions.  Please support their efforts as they pioneer through the toughest part of becoming an all-star program...those first  and early years.  Come out to their games and let them know that they are welcome and that they have you full support.  GO FOSSIL PARK

11-U All-Stars 1st in Bradenton Tourney

Bradenton, FL June 10-11, 2006

In preparation for the state Dizzy Dean tournament in South Port, the Fossil Park 11-U All-Stars flexed their muscles by winning the Summer Slam tournament in Bradenton, June 10-11. Summer Slam was an unsanctioned AAU event hosted by the Manatee Muddogs.

Fossil, managed by Jim Mateer and coached by Jim Wiley, ended the first day of play with a 5-5 tie against the host Muddogs and a 7-3 loss to the tough Lakeland Eagles.

On Sunday, however, behind the superior pitching of Clayton Jett, Zack Martz and Jake Holsinger, the All-Stars held their opponents to just 2 runs while scoring 26 of their own. Neither game went the full six innings with the Muddogs going down 10-1 and the Eagles falling 16-1 in the championship game. Danny McConville is the All-Stars' pitching coach.

Could the Summer Slam be a good omen for State? We hope so!
